Here’s an example on how to use research to help you find clarity:

Visit different websites and look at what their format looks like. Is this the type of format that you want for your website? It really doesn’t have to take too long, at least in the initial steps of exploration.

How does the other website feel to you? Are you drawn to it? Is this your style? Do you like this format? How about the marketing approach how do you feel about that?

Take a look at a few different sites and jot down which websites resonate with you and which ones don’t. It’s equally valuable to jot down the websites that don’t resonate with you, as well as the websites that do resonate with you and your personality because what we need to bring forth in our businesses, is us!

I’ve told our team that, yes I could do XYZ, yes it’s powerful and it’s working great for so and so, but you know what: that is not me! And ultimately when you come to me as a coach, what you see and what you hear is what you get! And I want to you feel like you already know me, because you do!

If I had used a different approach or just copied someone that really nailed it in their own field, then when you came to me you would see that it’s not genuine and above all, I want to be authentic and genuine with you!

We have to be authentic for our audiences to get to know who we are!

Use these other websites as markers, use them as ideas, as research. If you’re stuck this is a really good place to start. Go on the web, do the research and see what appeals to you and what doesn’t appeal to you. This is a great starting point for figuring out what you want to offer the world yourself.

Because that’s who we want to see, we want to see you!
